Pop sensation Billie Eilish has a special connection to New Orleans, and she's not shy about sharing it. In a recent interview, Eilish expressed her fond memories of the city, especially since it marked the beginning of her 'Happier Than Ever' tour in 2022. The city holds a unique place in her heart, and she's thrilled to be back, as she revealed to thousands of screaming fans at the Smoothie King Center.
'That show was the first show since the two years of nothing during COVID... so I think very highly of this place,' Eilish said. 'It's so cool to be back here and see all these faces again. We've all grown and it's crazy... thank you all for having me back here.'
The Grammy and Oscar award-winning singer performed many of her famous hits during the first night of her two-night concert series in the final leg of her 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' tour. From 'Bad Guy' to 'Ocean Eyes' and 'L'AMOUR DE MA VIE', Eilish delighted the crowd with her music. Dressed in her signature baggy clothes and with her dark hair framing her face, she left the stage during 'everything i wanted' to run into the crowd and high-five fans.
'It's the last first show,' Eilish told the crowd earlier in the night. 'It's been the most magical tour ever.'
Eilish will be back at the Smoothie King Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, with Men I Trust opening for her. But here's where it gets controversial... while Eilish's connection to New Orleans is clear, some might argue that the city's rich cultural heritage and history are often overlooked by tourists and even locals.
